  What is required for CISSP certification ? Candidates must have at least five years of paid work experience in two or more of the CISSP CBK's eight domains. One year of the required experience can be satisfied by earning a four-year college degree or regional equivalent, or an extra credential from the (ISC)2 recognised list. Only one year of experience will be satisfied with education credit. By passing the CISSP examination, a candidate who lacks the qualifying experience to become a CISSP can become an Associate of (ISC)2. After that, the Associate of (ISC)2 will have six years to complete the five years of experience required.
